Save the date

Claudine, on December 3, 2019 at 11:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

We're planning to have our wedding in July 2020. I'm planning to send out our "Save the Date" cards but not sure when. When did you send yours?

Save the dates are normally send out 6-8 months before the wedding, or up to a year in advance if you're having a destination wedding. If I were you, I would send yours in January after all the holiday mail traffic dies down a bit.

We planned on sending ours 6 months out, but ended up moving our wedding date up by two months so they actually went out 4 months before the wedding. We had already bought them so I didn't want them to go to waste! Smiley smile

I'd send them out within the next month, you want to give people enough time to start looking into travel arrangements and request time off work (if needed). We've already sent our save the dates for our September 2020 wedding.

I'm getting married May 2020 and we sent our STDs the first week of October. We have 160 on the invite list and 90 are OOT guests (150+ miles), so we went on the earlier side to ensure people could watch flights.

Yes - when you send a save the date, you need to let people know the exact date they'll be saving. So if you know you want to get married in July 2020 but aren't sure of your date yet, then you should wait to send them until you have a venue booked and your date is confirmed.

We actually sent ours out on the earlier side for our July 2020 wedding (beginning of August). We only sent them to our VIP family members and guests who are out of state (many of which have multiple people to coordinate travel for). All other guests will just receive the invitation about 8 weeks before the wedding.

I wish we could have done ours early too.. Smiley sad But he was dealing with his divorce and it was just finalized last month.. He would actually wanted me to wait until April until we do everything, and that only gives us 3 months to gather everything.. He keeps saying it is too easy -__-

We sent our save the dates out 10 months in advance for our July 2019 wedding. We had a lot of out of state guests & we have a lot of friends getting married so we knew people needed a lot of notice.

July 2020 here - We just ordered ours off of Minted as we just got our photos back (Fall engagement photos took awhile to get back as it is the busy season) and got the order expedited because we want to get them out in the mail before the super heavy holiday mail. They should be arriving on Wednesday and I plan to take them to the post office on Friday.

All our family and friends are within the state. That's the advantage for me, I guess. Cos I can also give it to them directly lol

We are getting married in March and save the dates are usually sent 6-8 months ahead of time. We sent ours in mid-July since we are getting married in Pennsylvania and all of our family and some of our friends will have to travel. With the holidays coming up though, I would wait until January for you. You don't want your save the date getting lost in all of the other cards people are receiving.

Yes. We are sending them the first week of March (approx) with a reply deadline of April 15th to correspond with two weeks before we owe final numbers to everyone. This will give enough time to reach out to non-respondents.

We are getting married in March and we sent ours out mid-July. Save the dates are usually sent out 6-8 months in advance. We sent ours out 7.5 months in advance because all of our family and most of our friends are having to travel.
