Save the date

Mikayla, on January 4, 2020 at 4:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
I was wondering what different ideas any of you would like to share about how you sent out save the dates.

I’m thinking about doing something via social media or email with the link to my wedding website. But I’d love to hear what other ideas worked for any of you.

We did magnets. Our invites with the wedding website will be going out soon though, so people can get a headstart on flights and hotels. The magnets seemed to be a hit because they hung up on all the fridges we got to visit.

We sent our magnets with one of our engagement photos. It depends on the formality of your wedding as to what you should do. I don't think posting anything like that on social media would be a good idea as you will get people that you don't plan on inviting thinking they will be invited.

I was thinking like a Facebook group of people only my Fiancé and I can add. But I do appreciate you bring up the possibility of other thinking they will get invited if they saw the save the date.

We did postcards. We’ve received several emailed save the dates and they really frustrated me because they always went to my FH and guess what? He’s not the one that keeps our schedule. I am. He also has a terrible time informing me of this type of info when he receives it. So when we got the invitations, sometimes it was super inconvenient and things had to be moved around. I’ve had older coworkers receive them via email and the griping I’ve heard from them, oh boy.

We did our STDs through Evite. It was free and easy! We are able to send them through email, text and messenger.

I went to Wal-Mart, and made save the date Christmas Cards. I ended up using 2 Christmas pics of us and verbagr that read - " all we want for Christmas is for you to come to our wedding" . They were fun and we received a lot of compliments on them. I saw several of them pinned on fridges and cabinets during this holiday season. Cost was good too...i paid around $30 to have 80 printed. Designed them at home one evening and picked them up the next day. Quality was surpringly good for Wal-Mart.

This. My FH actively ignores his email - we missed a save the date email blast and it caused so many headaches. Shutterfly for a quick printed option under budget will save you a lot of pain.
