I really wanted to get engagement pictures done before we sent STDs, but my FH just found out his coworker will be out on FMLA for 2-6 months starting in two weeks. FH will likely be working 6 days a week until he gets back, and he normally works close to 60 hours per week so I wouldn't be surprised if he is working 75+ through the holidays. Since he works nights and weekends it's already difficult to schedule things, and I really don't want to schedule and cancel last minute on our photographer because he is giving us the engagement session for free. All of our guests are traveling at minimum 2 hours to the venue and need overnight accommodations, so I want to make sure to get STDs out at least 10 months in advance. I started looking at STDs without pictures as a back-up plan and I found one I LOVED on Etsy, but it is over $125 for 50 which is WAY out of budget. I decided to play around with making my own, and I'm still thinking I might do a painting I just didn't have the energy to dig everything out tonight. We are having a celestial/night under the stars theme, so I decided to go with constellations. This is what I came up with, what do you think?

I think it looks great, especially since you made the design yourself! I would've thought it was from Etsy We're also doing a starry night theme! My hope is to use a photo of my FH and I with the Austin skyline in the background then edit the sky to put the numbers of our wedding date in constellation format. But like you, who knows when we'll be able to get together to get that photo taken lol.
What are your wedding colors? You could make the sky background more of a dark blue vs black if that's one of your colors.

We did STDs without pictures because we wanted everything to match. Don't forget to include the city and state where you're getting married.

You may also want to add "formal invitation to follow" in addition to city and state like earias said. They look awesome! Where'd you get the template from?

LOVE the celestial design. We didn't include pictures in our STDs either because of the timing with a photographer during the holidays, no biggie.

These look awesome! As others have said, make sure you add the city & state of your wedding location. Otherwise, it’s perfect. And you can always find other ways to show off your engagement photos, like on your wedding website or around your reception.

You could easily design this yourself on vistaprint for under 50 dollars with the mailing service. Mine were 32 dollars for 40 STDs and just as simply designed.

Thanks! I hope you can get your perfect picture, I think that would be really cute! Our photographer specializes in sunset engagement shoots up in the mountains, but what can you do 🤷‍♀️. If we do them in the spring at least I already have the perfect dress!
I’m still debating colors so I figured it’d be best to go with black until I decide. We’ve been thinking dark purple rather than navy.

Thank you! I was debating how to list location because we’re getting married in a national forest between several towns, each about 20 minutes away. I thought about going with where we’re getting ready but nothing else is happening wedding related for guests there and it’s about 5 minutes farther away than the other towns. This morning it came to me so I’ll have to edit really quick! Lol
