Save The Date timeline?

Shireen, on November 5, 2019 at 7:30 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
When should they go out? How many months out? From prior experience the actual invite went out 2 to 3 months before...I am thinking of sending our save the dates out early in December for our May wedding.

Save the dates are generally sent 6-8 months before the wedding, or up to a year in advance if it's a destination wedding. We actually ended up sending ours at 4 months out because we had to move our date up, otherwise it would've been at the 6 month mark. Early December will work!

I think you are on a good timeline. I plan on sending mine out 10 months beforehand just because 90% of my guests have to come from out of town!

I think your timeline of when you want to send out your save the dates is perfect! Usually 4-6 months in advance then send the invites out 2-3 months prior.

6-8 months before the wedding date is a good time period to stick to! We're hopefully sending out our save the dates by the end of next week so we're in the 8 months range. We also picked an odd date (Friday) during a super busy wedding/travel month (June) so we want our guests to be prepared well in advance for that.
