Just remember that STDs will indirectly cost you a fortune, no matter how you do them. The reason is that they lock you into a guest list way too early. Then if you decide you want a smaller wedding, realize that you can't afford to invite so many people due to costs, or just drift apart from people, you have to invite them anyway. If you invite just one couple whom you wouldn't have invited in the absence of an STD, that will cost you more than all the STDs themselves.

We used Shutterfly during one of their sales. Got a great deal and they turned out amazing. We received tons of compliments.

I get your point, but this is a little extreme: “STDs will indirectly cost you a fortune, no matter how you do them.” I plan to send out STDs because all of our guests will need to get accommodations or drive around 2.5 hours home afterwards. I’ll be looking into hotel room blocks, but I still want everyone to be able to plan ahead. I’m pretty set in my guest list, because it’s mostly just family and a couple friends, and the few people that we would like to invite but may not be able to won’t get an STD. So really it’s not going to cost me anything other than the cost to print and mail them- no extra “fortune!” The OP didn’t provide any details ie if she is having a destination wedding or lots of OOT guests that an STD would be helpful so they can plan ahead. I think the point you were trying to make is that STD should only be sent to people that you know 100% you want there, because it’s extremely rude to not invite someone that received an STD regardless of the reason. Life happens and of course all kinds of things can change in the 4-8 months that typically come between STDs and invitations, but we really can’t plan for everything just do our best.

To the OP- I use Shutterfly a lot for cards and they run lots of specials and coupon codes too. I’ve seen lots of posts on here about Zazzle with good experiences, though I’ve never bought anything through them. Good luck!

That's pretty dramatic. You should already have a realistic idea of who you want at your wedding and how many people you can afford to host BEFORE sending out STDs.

I did my STDs through Costco! If I remember right, they came to about $22 dollars after shipping and taxes for 50 STDs!

We actually got our Save the Dates from Walgreens! They have photo sales all the time and actually have a pretty nice selection of options so they're worth checking out. Plus, at least the ones we got, are eligible for same day pickup if you don't want to wait at all. Smiley xd

I’m planning on checking all the sites to compare costs, then ordering when there’s a sale. Sounds like 50% is most commonly the discount. I’m planning on ordering mine Black Friday or sometime around there 😊
