Save the Date - return address question

Elizabeth, on June 10, 2014 at 1:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I am sending out postcards as my Save the Dates. Do I need to include a return address on them? I'm leaning towards no, but I wanted to make sure I'm not making some huge mistake. I figured it was ok to be less formal, since they are postcards (and my wedding won't be formal to begin with.)

^^^ this. I had 2 returned for bad addresses (one my mistake, the other I was given a wrong address). I'm glad I got them back so I can send the invitations to the correct address!

My save the dates were post cards as well. I didn't do return address on them. I did on my invites. I haven't had any invitations returned to me besides one that I forgot to put postage on (oops!) I placed my return address labels on the back of the envelope for my invite.

I did postcards and I had my return address on them. You'll want to have that just in case anything needs to be returned to sender - I had a few (2) addresses that were incorrect and got bounced back to me. If i hadn't included my address I never would have known.

I did postcards as well and they had a place where your return address was printed above the pictures. I think it's good to put a return address on anything you mail out if you want to make sure you know who is getting what. I had one out of my 15 engagement party invitations come back to me.

I put the return address on the top L corner, like any other mail. I'm glad I did because we got one back from FHs Aunt/Uncle- his mom had given us the wrong street number, so we were able to correct everything and get it out to them.

I did not include a return address on the STD post card, I needed the space for other details.
