Could you elaborate? Are you having a private ceremony? Are you already married? Why is it reception only?

All save the dates have a standard wording regardless of the event it is for. Whether its a class reunion, wedding ceremony or reception, it would still just say "Save the Date" featuring the date, city and state and that details or formal invitation will follow. As for the invitations, you would adjust the wording to invite guests to the celebration following a private ceremony. There are several standard wordings for this scenario.

    We need more information really.

However, based on your OP I would say Save the Dates are not necessary at all. However, if you want them then you could just use a standard save the date template with the date, city, and state, and specify that it's a wedding reception and formal invite will follow.
