Save the date oops

Porterpoppin, on November 16, 2018 at 12:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 28
So 2 things..

I ordered my save the dates through Zazzle.com (they have 60% off today promo code WEEKDAYSHOPZ) and I received them Tuesday. Today has been the first day I’ve been able to sit down and start working on addressing them. I had played around with the save the date on the website and must’ve put the wrong one in my cart. It’s the “right” one but it doesn’t have “formal invitation to follow” or our website address.

I did the postcard save the date and their simple and cute. But now it feels like something’s missing. Would you reorder to add formal invitation to follow and your website? Would it look bad if I hand wrote that info on the back?

Also. This may sound dumb lol but what side on the back do I put their address? Left or right? Do I include our address? I’ve never sent a postcard before 😬😬 lol

I actually think it’s better the way you ordered it. I don’t think it’s necessary to have the website on save the dates (We didn’t, because we didn’t have all our info yet on room blocks, registry, etc. we’ll just include it on our invites). And I think “formal invitation to follow” is nice but unnecessary... it’s pretty implied! They look great as is Smiley smile

The stamp goes on the top right, and return address on top left Smiley smile

You could order a small insert card that says "for more information, see our wedding website"? If you don't mind sending them in envelopes instead.

I wouldn't reorder. I think it looks fine as-is! I think most people will know that a formal invitation will follow. Smiley smile

And on the post card mailing thing - address goes on the stamp side. You don't have to put a return address at all on a postcard, but if you want to, it goes next to the stamp. The left/larger side is reserved for notes/messages. Hope this helps!

Oh sorry I didn’t finish answering... stamp on the top right, YOUR address (return address) on top left. THEIR address goes on the right side of that dotted line, below the stamp

You could do that but with a post card you can write on the back so just put the information on the postcard.

I think it looks fine the way it is. We also ordered the postcard save the dates from zazzle and put our website on the back left. You could add an insert with your website or write it on the back if you want but don’t think it’s necessary. I also recommend reaching it to zazzle about it - they have great customer service.

I think most people know the invite will follow the save the date. Don't worry about it.

They look amazing as they are no need for a reprint. The formal would have been nice. But this is still amazing and I'm sure if anyone has questions they will call or wait for the invitation.

I think they look amazing as is I don't think you should reorder new ones, whatever you didn't include on your save the date make sure you include it on your formal invitation and send it out that way!

This is totally fine, and typically how save the dates look. As others have said, the "formal invites to follow" thing is nice but unnecessary. Also the website is unneeded at this point

Since the left is larger specifically to add a hand written note I would just put the info there and something like hope to see you there which goes with the wish you were here thing people put on post cards

There find as is. If you want to add info I would just write it on the back after all it is a postcard.

You're fine without saying the formal invitation is to follow. That's a given.

As for the website, I wouldn't have put it on a postcard anyway for privacy reasons, so you're fine there too! If you want people to access your site before you send out invites, by all means write it on the back.

But if you're really kicking yourself for putting the wrong version into your cart, contact customer service. If Zazzle's customer service is anything like Vistaprint's, they may replace them for you at no charge. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I think it's fine as is! But, if you want, you could order a stamp with "formal invitation to follow" "website url" vistaprint has one for $8.24 right now!

    I'm KC too!!

I think you're fine without the added stuff as well. We had our website on there but when it went through the machine it got covered up any way (....should have planned better) so most people didn't know it was a thing anyway.

I personally like the version you ordered more. If you have the time and energy and really want your wedding website on it I would add it handwritten on the back. But I definitely don’t think this is a big issue that should be reordered. It is implied that a save the date means an invitation will be following.
