Save the Date Nerves

Kelly, on September 8, 2020 at 5:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Any one else feel nervous once the Save the Dates are in the mail? Not sure why. Most people know I'm getting married next year. It's a domestic destination wedding. Maybe that's why I feel nervous.

On a different note, any questions I should suspect people to start asking?

    A good kind of nervous?

    questions people ask:

    1. what's the attire?

    2. can i have a plus one?

We really didn’t have any questions after our STDs went out, but we also only sent them 6-months prior too. We also gave our wedding website so they could see update information regularly

I felt a little anxious, like a “now it’s in writing so it’s official” excitement and anxiety lol. We didn’t get any questions either, though we did get one rsvp. Our wedding website had all the major details (at that time, because Covid threw a wrench in all those plans).

Since it’s a destination wedding people might ask about room blocks or travel questions.

I felt the same way. It was the first official thing we did like once we mail them out no going back now! The only questions we got after the save the dates was from our family friends with kids and cousins that live out of state with kids they just wanted to know if kids were invited. I did have one family out of state ask what city it was in which we didn’t include on our save the dates she wanted to pre look at flights and hotels.

I definitely had nerves running through my veins right after we dropped them in the mail lol. Oddly enough, I've gotten a few questions that were literally answered on the save the date. I'm like did you even READ IT?!!? I've been asked about hotels and plus ones as well. A few friends and family actually RSVP'd already even though the save the date says formal invite to follow Smiley amazing

We just sent ours out last week. No questions except for my fiancé‘s father forcing us to invite his sister. But you know how that goes..... I felt a little nervous too. We didn’t put our wedding website information on our save the dates because our wedding is 9 months away And if people start RSVPing now, I’m sure things will change by the time my wedding comes around and people may forget to change their RSVP no. We plan on sending our invites out 4 months before the wedding. We’ll see how this goes

I was just talking about this last week!! For me it makes it real if that makes sense. The questions and all sorts of things will begin.. As someone who hardly posts my fiancée or even posted my engagement on social media, a lot of my immediate people forgot I was engaged! Our wedding will be in June in NC and since we live in NY, we sent the Save The Dates the middle of December. A friend of mine said that was too soon but when you have to factor in hotels, sitters, and flights, sending it in December made sense to us. We will still be in a Covid reality so we added an RSVP date to the save the date. We know we will have to give some wiggle room on our deadline but at least we will have an idea for the numbers. I also addressed the envelope to the person or couple so they and for my single friends I spoke to them months ago in regards to bringing a date not being an option.
2021 Brides let's hope we can have our weddings safe and happy!!!

That's valid because a save the date is official and cannot be revoked.

Did you include a website to update people of information needed? Such as travel blocks at specific hotels etc?

I did. We actually didn't get too many questions. But we put all relevant information on the website.

Some people will ask questions and others will barely glance at the site. Wait for them to ask you.
