Save the date addresses

MeganM, on September 27, 2014 at 12:03 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I'm finally getting ready to print the envelopes for my save the dates. I know that save the dates can be less formal than invites, but I still don't really know what to do! Did you put your name and your FHs name on the return address part? Just yours? Neither? And if I invite a family who has an adult child living at home, do I need to send two save the dates, one for the parents and one for the adult child? If not, would I address it

"john and jane doe

Jenny doe

Address"?

They are magnet save the dates.

And LASTLY did you address them as mr and mrs so and so or just used first names? I feel like a fool asking, but I keep second guessing and changing things and all.

    I'm getting ready to send out my STDs in the next few weeks, too!

    As for the return address: we got labels made with both of our first names, no last names

    Adult child: we were on the fence for this. We got STD magnets and they only came in incriments of 25 and we needed 77 (of course!), so since we have the extras we will be sending them to each of the adult children, otherwise we would have just done it to one household, but included everyone's name on the envelope. They'd all be going on the same fridge, after all. No need to have 5 of the same magnet on one fridge.

    Titles: I'm planning on doing titles, but the majority of our guests are family and older than me and I was raised that it is respectful to address (on paper and in person) elders by their title. And my friends that are my age (mid to late 20s) love getting mail with a "Ms." or "Mr." in front of their name. I was talking to a friend a few days ago and she loves how it makes her sound like an adult lol (duh, she is, but I still feel a lot younger than I am, so I know what she means)

    I was completely informal with them. I didn't mail half; just handed them out, and then I didn't stress about addressing. I decided to save that for the formal invites.

    Return address...we did my mom and dad's for the save the date. For the invite we did our address (we live together) with just first names.

    We just wrote names, no Mr/Mrs to keep it less formal;

    We put both of our names on the return address label;

    1 STD per home will suffice--For that I put (the X family)--or you could specify the ppl's names

    Hope this helps!

    Yes, please send two separate save the dates for adults who live at home! I don't live at home and I am still getting invited to family things through my Mom. Quite annoying.

    We made labels and the ones I mailed, no name was on the return address. We also handed some out to save on stamps.

    I am giving one to every adult (well one per couple). But if an adult son lives at home he gets one as well as his parents.
