Savannah minimoon

Chelsea, on June 27, 2018 at 7:47 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
We are looking to go to Savannah for a mini moon after the wedding and was wondering if anyone had any tips for places to stay, things to do, where to eat..etc. Obviously being historic we would love to stay somewhere quaint like a b&b and indulge in some romantic amenities. If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them! Thanks in advance!

You will love it! I took my FH last year as a surprise birthday gift. We stayed at The Westin Golf Resort which was on the River right across from Front St. It was so perfect because they have a fairy that takes you across the River where all the shops & restaurants are at, that way there’s no driving & you don’t have to worry about parking which was a hassle on our 1st night due to not knowing about the fairy. We had a blast. Vic’s on the River is a most their food is delicious. Make sure to RSVP. We did the Riverboat Cruise which was a blast. Full course meal with dancing & drinking. I also picked a celebration package for his birthday which includes cake, Rose & a bottle of Champagne. There’s so much to do on the River Front.. Wet Willies, bars with handmade beer, ice cream & candy shops, different restaurants, all kinds of shops for different things. You can walk the streets with your drinks or sit at a table or on a bench in front of the River. We also did a night out in the city which in the downtown area & went to a Tapas spot then walked around & found a bar/lounges everywhere. We stopped at one with a live bands playing which was great. And we are not clubbing people I think we had enough in our 20’s but it was great to get out again & not have too much of the young crazy crowd. The atmosphere was just awesome. I just googled things to do in Savannah & found so much. Good luck! You will have fun.

Chelsea, hello! I love the idea of a minimoon getaway in Savannah! Smiley heart

I would also try AirBnB if you're looking to stay some place quiet, cute, and cozy!

Savannah has a lively summer scene with many sights to see, experiences, and activities for you to do there. I hope this website helps, too. Smiley heart

How long will you be staying?

Savannah is one of my favorite weekend getaways! I love love love, have I said it enough, love it. I love the fact that you can take a to-go cup in a bar and go try on clothes at Ann Taylor with a drink, although, drinking and shopping should never mix. The food is sooooo good, check Yelp for advice. We found (I can't remember the name) the best burgers in Savannah at a Japanese restaurant, and they were not kidding, it was so good! I could go on and on. We did a haunted walking tour when we were there and it was very interesting, with a stop in several of the bars for drinks. I agree with the Westin Golf Resort as stated by PP's that ferry is key. They have a great Dueling Piano bar right on Front St. if you are interested in that type of entertainmenthttps://www.savannahsmilesduelingpianos.com/ .

I love Savannah! We got engaged there! Definitely eat at Treylor Park for lunch or dinner, its so delicious and a great atmosphere! They have waffle fry nachos that are to die for! We also loved Hueys on the River for brunch! They had great mimosas and they have a lot of New Orleans style food (including beignets). There is also a Christmas store on the main strip where we got an adorable ornament to commemorate getting engaged!

If you're looking for drinks Jen's and Friends is AWESOME they have a ton of flavored martinis! Wet Willies has every flavor of alcoholic slushie you could want.

Savannah Smiles dueling piano bar is also so so fun and its really entertaining!

Savannah is just gorgeous with the shops and the architecture in general so its an awesome place to stay and relax! We stayed in a hotel outside of town so we uber'd in so we could drink. I definitely recommend staying as close as you can to River Street, that is where most of the action is and you can walk everywhere!
