sash with a corset back?

Holly, on May 11, 2012 at 9:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I still love my dress but now im starting to think the front still needs a little something.. i thought like a beaded sash might improve the look a little, but it also has a corset back so most sashes wont work for it, but i was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap sash that would work with a corset back? Thanks!!

Would you be able to lace the sash into the corset? That might help tie them both together (no pun intended lol)

You might be able to do what I am doing. I have a sash but don't want that long ribbon hanging off the back (IMO it makes me look like a little girl). So my seamstress is going to sew the sash directly onto the dress and then cut it so both ends meet perfectly at the seam of the zipper. So it will look like it was originally part of the dress. Maybe you could have someone sew the sash on the dress and cut it off to meet where the open part of the corset back starts?

Yea. I kinda thought I could see about having one sewn on the dress and meet at the seam of the corset. But I don't know how expensive that would be, and I wouldnt want to spend alot on it

I wouldn't think it would be too expensive, but I don't know. A family friend is doing mine, so I have no idea how much it might cost in a bridal store. Maybe ask the place you got the dress to find out what your best and cheapest alternatives might be?

I am having the tails cut off of mine and sewn on too. I got my sash on Etsy, it was only $45.00 and I think the seamstress is charging like $20 to sew it on. I could do it myself, but I don't want to have one more thing to worry about doing.

It shouldn't be that expensive to have it sewn on. I would check into that. I think that will be your best option.
