Sandals Honeymoon

Jasmine, on July 4, 2019 at 10:05 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 14

My fiance and I are looking into Sandals and we've been going back and forth between Bahamas and St. Lucia. Has anyone ever used Sandals? If so, what locations/resorts would you recommend and how long did you stay? What was your experience? Any and all suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

We will be visiting Sandals Ochi for our honeymoon in August. We chose it because it seemed like one of the most affordable that wasn’t bare bones. Best of luck to you.

Hey Jasmine!! I’m sure both the Bahamas and St. Lucia would be beautiful honeymoon locations! Are you leaning towards one or another?

Sandals resorts are popular choices for honeymoons so I searched for some other community discussions that mention them. I thought you would be interested in checking some of these out to see what other users thought of their experiences there.

We visited Sandals Montego Bay last December for 5 days and loved it!! Our room was amazing, right on the beach, and in the newest section of the resort. We were the first ones in our room!! The people were super nice and the food was fairly good. We lived off of the the surf and turf. It was so yummy. It's a very clean resort and there are lots of activities both on and off the resorts. I highly recommend Mo Bay. We are going to Sandals Barbados Royal next Christmas.

I haven’t used sandals but I have been in st Lucia. St Lucia is a good choice if you are strictly going to stay in the hotel but there is not a lot to see outside of it. Bahamas, I haven’t been there but my friends have told me it’s amazing beautiful beaches and all.

Thanks! My fiance actually wanted to look into Jamaica as well but decided against it. Have fun and safe travels.

Thank you! We're about split right now. I'm leaning more towards St. Lucia but my fiance is leaning more towards Bahamas because he wants to swim with the pigs lol

Awesome! I'm glad you had a good experience. I had started looking at that one the other night but we actually ended up deciding against Jamaica as a whole.

I would definitely want to see something outside of the hotel so maybe i'll look into that a little more. I appreciate the heads up. Thanks.

St. Lucia is awesome but quiet outside of the resorts. Since we love seclusion and privacy our St. Lucia trips have been fab. Bahamas is probably the best choice if you want activity etc. but this is one of the islands I've not been to yet to give you personal experience. I think Sandals on the whole is a lot of fun especially if you are there with other lively guests. You should have a blast whichever you choose. Best wishes!

Thanks! I greatly appreciate advise. I'll look more into the bahamas because I'm definitely trying to do something outside. I don't want to be cooped up the entire time

I’ve been to Sandals Royal Bahamian for a wedding last October. The resort grounds and private island are nice and the food was good. We had multiple issues with our room (put us in the wrong type of room which was filthy-bugs in our bed; finally got into the right room and the AC leaked to the point of flooding our room twice) and the entertainment/nightlife is lacking. If your FI wants to swim with the pigs, it will be a very costly excursion from RB to Exuma where the pigs are ($300-400/person when we were there). If you stay at Sandals Exuma, you’ll pay a decent amount more to fly into that airport or you have to take a ferry that only runs certain days of the week from the mainland.

We really wanted to get married at Sandals St Lucia, but it’s a little too pricey for our guests. I do have a friend who did their honeymoon there and said it was amazing!

Oh wow! That's crazy! Thanks for the input. I'll definitely talk it over with my FH and let him know that. See if he'll still want to do it lol
