Sand ceremony music

Lauren K, on May 12, 2013 at 11:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Any ideas?

We are doing mostly top 40 but instrumental versions for the processional music.

Thanks!

You really don't need music or the sand ceremony. Your officiant will talk as you pour, and it's about 20 seconds. It's usually difficult to cue and honestly, it's not necessary.

As Celie mentioned... it's hard to cue, unless you have someone who really "gets it."

If you insist on doing it... I recommend doing a soft instrumental/inspirational type of song. You may wan to discuss this with your DJ.

I agree as well. Our officiant will be speaking as we pour, not before. So there will be minimal dead space if any at all.

Don't do it!!! Ours forgot to play the sand ceremony song and it ended up playing for our recessional, which I was pretty upset about because I loved our recessional. The officiant also had us say some words doing the sand ceremony so music would have been very short.

I didn't even think about this when it comes to the sand ceremony part. I'm glad you asked! Lol.

I'll have to disagree with Celia (but she's right about how quick it is). On Sand, I usually just fade in a string quartet selection (Vitamin String Quartet), just as the officiant is finishing their explanation then fade out as the couple comes back to the altar. If you don't have some kind of background filler it just seems empty. Do NOT try to put a full-length or vocal piece into this event.

We played One Love during ours. It was great. It was on low so the officiant could still talk, but we had some difficulty with the sand so if there had been no music I would have been silent until we started laughing.
