Sample sizes

Going dress shopping in about a month. Generally, what size are the samples you try on? More at boutiques, avoiding David's Bridal after using them in the past.

Bridal sizes tend to be 1 or two dress sizes larger than your street size. Not sure if that's what you're asking.

It varies by region or store

Most where I went were between a bridal 8 and 12 (6 to 10 street) with a bridal 20 for plus sample dresses.

I was suprised to find that most sample sizes I tried on were size 10-12-14. They also had smaller sizes too, but they had a lot of larger sizes and size was never an issue when I wanted to try something on! One salon I went to also had a few 18 & 22's. Don't worry! Your consultant will make it work, and they are not judging you at all, they just want you to be happy!

The samples were all over the place. Some I could completely zip up with room, others didn't have a chance. I was a size 10 when we went shopping.

All shops I went to were 8-12 sample sizes which is like 6-10 street size.

When you get to the dress shop, they should be able to help you find your size but generally you'll need 1 or 2 sizes up from your normal size.

I would ask the shops when you're making your appointment. The first one I went to mostly had sizes 12 and under so I didn't have very many options. The shop I found my dress at only sells off the rack so they had something in just about every size.

It varied. I think I tried on some bridal size 10s and 12s, but I also tried on dresses that were definitely smaller and bigger than that. It wasn't always consistent at a single store, either.
