Same Color Palette as Future Sister-in-law

Dynesha, on September 24, 2019 at 9:20 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
I saw a Facebook post from my future sister-in-law celebrating her anniversary. I attended 3 years ago (along with 8 other weddings) and I discovered that she had a color palette that is very similar to the color palette I picked. Her colors were white, purple, and gray. My color palette is plum, ivory, silver/gray. I’m contemplating changing my color (purple) scheme but I already bought a lot of decor items. Should I change my color palette so it doesn’t seem like I’m a copycat?

If you didn't remember until you saw a FB post about it, I wouldn't worry. Definitely enough time between her wedding and yours - plus unless you have identical decor items it will look very different anyway.

Thanks. The plum is much deeper than the purple

It should be okay! I wouldn't change your colors just because of that

I wouldn't worry about it. There are only so many colors in the world. I think if your decor is different nobody will even notice.

There are only so many colors in the rainbow, and you chose three that you really like. No bride has exclusive rights to any color, so you are free to choose what you like. I doubt any of those guests from 3 years ago will remember that your FSIL chose similar colors. Even if they do, so what? It doesn't make you a copycat. Nobody will care! Please don't overthink this!

Own it girl!! These are your colors!
