Said yes to the dress! Doesn’t photograph well

Hi everyone! Last weekend I said yes to THE dress! It was the last dress I tried on at the first store & I just knew. I still went to my second appt but came back to the first store & purchased the dress the same day, right before they closed. The only problem is that I don’t think it photographs well. I almost convinced myself I liked a dress better at the second store because it photographed better (last pic) but ultimately decided against it, it just wasn’t the dress for me. Has anyone gone through something similar? Did you do anything to make your dress “pop” more in photos? Don’t mind the pics, I’m awkward & not the most photogenic lol

Old world/romantic is my theme The venue is an old mansion built by a NY governor in the early 1900’s to replicate an Italian villa so I thought the dress went well with the venue but I could definitely see the mermaid skirt under the dress working for a ballroom venue!

I have been going back & forth about hair so much! I’m stuck between either of these (except if Kim K hair, more curly), possibly with a hair piece. I have a bunch of half up pins saved too so have a feeling it will be a game time decision at my hair trial lol

I think a little bling will do the first dress justice and completely change your mind!! I added a belt to my dress and it made a huge difference. They both look wonderful on you, but the first dress I think is more elegant and less busy

Oh no, that first dress is much better on you than the second. You made a great choice. No dress photographs well in a bridal salon (terrible lighting most of the time). Your professional photographer will make that dress shine.

Honestly I love the first one more! The second one is really pretty but it's almost too much and sort of takes away from you.

They're both beautiful dresses but I really do love the first one! I definitely agree that your accessories can give it that pop!
Also, I would think your photographer will definitely be able to help make sure the dress looks great in photos with positioning it for the most own yknow?

Marissa, both of these dresses are so gorgeous!! I'm so glad you went with your gut and chose the one you love! I think it photographs great! Love everyone else's ideas of maybe adding a veil or headpiece for a pop! Also love the hair styles you attached, that'll be beautiful with this!

I think it looks fine (the dress you picked) I’m SURE it will pop when you have hair, makeup, jewelry, veil and the look of excitement on that day. You look gorgeous “awkward” and all . Congratulations on finding your dress!
