Sad but slightly relieved

My wedding was scheduled for April 26th. I am having to postpone like many other brides. I was devastated when I got the call from my venue. Now that I have had all of this time to reflect I have been trying to find the small silver linings. I now feel like I sort of get a do over. I have been planning our wedding for 2 years at this point and have learned a lot. I know a lot of people wish they could rewind and have a smaller wedding or do this instead of that. I now have a chance to re-evaluate what I have found is most important to me in the process and make my wedding exactly what I want having all of this new knowledge. The venue was kind enough to refund us our entire deposit, so that is really helpful if I decide I want to change my vision. Are any other brides feeling this way?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! My wedding is October so I can’t relate but I know some guests have been asking questions. I love your optimism and wish you nothing but the best through this time. Either way you’re going to have your big day and it’ll be special! Good luck and cheers to doing things your way 😊

Thank you Lisa! I’ve got to try and find the little things through this time or I’d drive myself crazy! Especially being off work with all of this free time! 😂

I’m married now but in hindsight I do wish I had a simpler and smaller wedding - you get so caught up in the details and what you think your guests will like that you forget that they’re really just there to celebrate you so all the other stuff is small

I'm sorry you've had to postpone your wedding, Tayler! I'm so glad you've been able to keep a positive attitude and see the silver lining, though! Best wishes for the wedding day of your dreams when the time comes!
