Rustic style with gold accents.

Alyssa, on January 23, 2016 at 4:39 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

I am going for a rustic decor at our venue with a touch of gold for accent pieces. I'm thinking gold candles, gold card box, gold votive holders. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Will the two styles clash? Our venue has that rustic feel but it isn't a barn or anything so I don't want to go to rustic. I want more of a rustic elegant look. Has anyone ever done something like this? Have photos? Or inspiration photos? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Love your venue! It looks very similar to mine but a little bigger. I'm trying to do the same thing with just touches of gold. My thoughts were ties on the napkins, possibly on votive, a card box. Basically the same stuff you are. I don't think it clashes when done as "accents" and not the main colour. I wouldn't do a gold bridesmaids dress because that may feel a little out of place.

Awesome thank you! It's good to hear someone has the same thing in mind. The bridesmaid dresses are a taupe and Petal and the flowers are maroon, ivory and petal so I wanted to keep with the neutral tons and I just adore gold!

Absolutely! That sounds beautiful! I'm doing burgundy as my main colour with ivory. Then gold will be my accents. I love the neutral pallette idea too!

My venue is called a barn but it's really not. It is however rustic. But I'm going with a vintage theme. I bought candlestick holders of all shapes and sizes for my tables. I got mod podge and used that with gold glitter. Candles will be scattered throughout greens lengthwise on the tables. I have a pic but I'm not quite finished yet. This pic is just something I threw together on my moms island at her house lol

My venue is really similar. Our colors are dark pink, maroon, and gold. Bridesmaid will be in champagne dresses - maroon and dark pink flowers. Our venue hangs lights everywhere so it'll be a mix of rustic and elegant.

We are doing something similar. Our gold accents are cake topper, picture frames, and stationary (I.e., escort cards and table numbers)

I totally love the gold accents! Rustic doesn't always mean burlap and lace!

I think my wedding technically has rustic components, but I consider it more woodsy elegance
