Rustic AND Sparkle??

Melissa, on September 21, 2017 at 3:05 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

Okay guys.. Our original plan was to go with a more rustic, but elegant, theme. But after I chose my dress & we switched our colors around a bit, I'm REALLY wanting to add some gold and/or rose sparkle to our decor. I was thinking we should just get rid of any rustic ideas, mainly wood circles with centerpieces, etc. but now I'm thinking these two things can be incorporated together without clashing... What do you think??

I personally am not a fan of rustic theme weddings and don't think the two can be incorporated. I think it can either be rustic or it can be elegant. The two don't really go together. Why don't you try a romantic garden theme? It has more of a nature vibe.

Were you doing wood slabs, mason jars and burlap?

I think you can do both! Rustic theme weddings usually have muted blues, pinks, and whites. So what about adding in some rose gold sparkle? I think it would match very well!

I think it depends on what you mean by rustic and sparkly. Rustic and glitter to not go together at all. I found these when I Pinterested "Rose gold rustic" and I think they look nice. It really depends on what your vision is and how you execute it.

I like what Kate said. I think it depends on what you mean by rustic. We are getting married in a barn so people might assume it's going to be rustic but the space has hardwood floors, gold mirrors on the wall, and pretty draping. We are spending a lot on flowers to make it look even more elegant. I do agree with other posters that burlap and mason jars don't really scream elegance but maybe that's not what you meant by rustic?

My cousin was just married in a somewhat rustic location. Their colors were rose gold and gray. I think they pulled it off, it was very romantic.

Here's a pic of the sweetheart table. The centerpieces were tall vases with three white hydrangeas and little branches sticking out (the tall kind). There was eucalyptus incorporated in a lot of areas. The bridesmaids had rose gold painted eucalyptus in their bouquets.

ETA: there wasn't sparkle but I'm thinking you can add sparkle with more rose gold.

Absolutely no burlap, no mason jars, no baby's breath.. We are planning to do a somewhat garden-y theme with some lanterns. I pretty much just mean some wood circles with centerpieces and maybe for our cake stand.

I think that romantic garden theme is the best way to go! Can incorporate sparkle with that really well

One of the most fabulous weddings I have EVER done was in a rustic, antique casino overlooking the Jersey shore. Every surface was covered with sequins, enamelware, depression glass, gold silverware and flowers everywhere. It was unbeievable. The photos don't do it justice at all.

It took them four days to decorate.

I'm having a rustic and sparkle wedding. Grey, silver and burgundy are my colors. I wanted rose gold but FH was set on grey

They can be combined if done right. My venue is a ranch. So we have roses as a centerpiece, in a mason jar with lace ribbon.
