Running late

Bianca , on September 19, 2016 at 10:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

So my mom and sister scheduled to have their hair and make up done at 10 am and won't be out until 1:30. Problem is my wedding starts at 2. She's reassuring they won't be late but not only is that the issue, I'm also wanting to know who's going to help me get into the dress? All my bridesmaids and aunts are going to be extremely busy getting themselves ready. I'm just annoyed at this point that she made a last minute appointment and everywhere else was booked, so she had no other choice but to go to this place.

Nope, she needs to change her appointment or go somewhere else. That's ridiculous IMO. I would have a major problem with that if that was my situation.

That is cutting it really close. You can't plan on how long it will take to get their hair and makeup done. My gut tells me it probably won't take as long as they are planning, but I wouldn't risk it either.

It's going to take 3.5 hours for 2 people to get hair and makeup done? I did the hair for a wedding with a girl I used to work with and i think we did 4 people in less time than that....

What time will your photographer arrive to start getting ready pictures (assuming you are doing that)? She will need to be present for those. And I would personally be hurt if my mom didn't spend any time with me prior to the ceremony. Have you expressed that to her? Maybe she could pay a little extra for on site hair/makeup?

ETA: as Mrs. K pointed out, that seems like a very long time. Please tell me she isn't doing cut and color as well. That is just poor planning.

No its just 2 ladies working on my sister and mom at the same time they'll be switching back and forth. And yes I'm going to have a photographer, I told my Dad I guess you're going to have to help me zip up the dress.

OMG...I'm so sorry. Have you explained to your mom how much that time means to you? Maybe she didn't think about it.

Can't they start any earlier? Or can the ladies come to wherever you are getting ready at?

Nope can't start earlier and they can't come to the house. And yes she knows how much it means to me, she's just hoping she finishes sooner.

They need to find someone else to do it! Post on Facebook asking for references, that's how I found my hairstylist. She did my hair at 6am & opened the salon for me. Or start calling places! Good luck!
