Rsvps

Nicole, on June 10, 2019 at 4:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Can someone tell me what people find it so hard to mail back an RSVP especially if it's already stamped? I legit could have saved myself 100 bucks in postage. Even half my wedding party didnt send it back. Their response was that I knew they were coming...yeah sure, but I didnt know about your date or how to spell their last name. I just find it incredibly rude.

    Its beyond me honestly.
When we our RSVP cards together, my dad actually said to me "Why do you need a decline option? If people arent coming they just dont send it back."

I honestly don't know Smiley sad
Most of my RSVPs didn't send it back either. They just verbally told us and our parents. It's annoying because it's like.. for our reference.

I had a similar issue. A ton of people just verbally told us or our parents and never sent back the actual card. Super annoying.

I am in the same boat. Half of our bridal party hasn't sent back RSVPs. The groomswoman sent hers back and told us she wasn't bringing a date, but because her ex is attending our wedding (he is friends with my fiance and she actually met him through my fiance) with his fiancee, our groomswoman now feels like she has to bring a date and loose 20 pounds. I told my fiance if she wants to bring a date that's fine because we gave her a plus one, but we need to know ASAP so we can account for him. She doesn't like to attend events without dates if her ex might be there. She had my fiance while we were dating go with her to a friend's wedding because her other ex was going to be there. She isn't dating anyone and obviously my ex can't be her date so I have no clue who she would even bring. My fiance said he is going to talk to her about it so we know for sure if she is bringing a date. The other members are married/engaged and have told us if their significant other is attending, but they still didn't think it was necessary to mail the RSVP back. I think people are just lazy. One couple we invited are getting married about a month before us and haven't bothered to RSVP. I would think as a bride and groom themselves they would know how important it is for them to RSVP.

I made a list on the computer and highlighted people as they RSVP'd, but I legit had to manually contact half of our list.

If you could go back, would you have foregoed the rsvp cards in general?

I swear people, even those who are married, don't realize how important RSVPs are in wedding plans. Your caterer, baker, florist, photographer, and venue all need that final number, ugh!

    Most frustrating aspects about wedding:
    1) cost of everything
    2) RSVPs! 😡😩🤬

I know the struggle! Our RSVP date was yesterday, and we were still waiting on 61 people. As of right now, we are waiting on 30 (I reached out to everyone this morning). We did have a large majority of the RSVPs we did get (probably around 180 people) sent it since we stamped & addressed the envelopes, but a few used the online option too (we listed it as another option on the RSVP card).
