Rsvps?

Riot, on June 16, 2020 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
How long does it normally take people to RSVP?
I am a very impatient person lol I do know this and work on this daily, so while the rsvps come in extremely slowly it just makes me curious if this is normal or if this is because of the current state of the world.
This question is purely based on curiosity and others experience. While I've hosted other events where a RSVP was needed, it was my experience that many people did not respect that and just showed up regardless. This is my first wedding and I hope the experience isn't the same.

I think most people will RSVP for a wedding - they are aware that a head count is required for the caterer and setup at the venue. Whatever date you put on there, I would wait a week after, then call those that didn't RSVP - I'm impatient, too, but we have to allow time for that person who got it in the mail a day late or whatever Smiley winking

We got about 25% of our RSVPs back within two weeks of sending them out, then two or three a week, then another big rush right before the deadline. It's common for RSVPs to come in slow, or even not at all, but I would imagine that many people are waiting to see how things play out before RSVPing for summer events.

We got well over half of our RSVP's back within the first 2 weeks of sending out our invitations. The rest came in sporadically over the following weeks. I'd say about 5% of guests waited until the week of the RSVP deadline.

I am not sure if it makes a difference, but we did send save the dates. So all of our guests were well aware of our wedding date.

We got about 1/3 within the first week of sending out the invitations. Then another third trickled in gradually over the next couple months. Then the last 1/3 sent it in the week before the deadline. We only had about half a dozen (out of 150) who didn’t rsvp by the deadline.

We've received about 1/4 in the first two weeks of sending them out, so it seems normal. I think its just me lol

We got a few right away and even less trickling in throughout the time frame. The vast majority came in around the deadline and a few days after (many people view the RSVP by date as the date they throw it in the mailbox).

We got some right away, then had to start poking people. Some people never even responded to pokes, and we just assumed they wouldn't come (bonus when they were family).

People either do it *right* away, or forget and have to be poked.

From when you sent it out you should have placed deadline on invite which you probably did and by that time. Ppl always respond back right before it
