Rsvps

Hi! Curious about RSVPs. Did you do a standard mail-in RSVP card or online on your website? We do need to ask about attending the welcome party and meal choice. I’ve heard 50% of people don’t mail cards back, but curious if they’ll take the time to do it online? Open to thoughts and experiences!

We did post card rsvps, as well as used the knot for our website. they send out a reminder text a week before the rsvp date with a link to rsvp and it was amazing! I got 15 responses back within 3 hours!

We did RSVP cards, since the invitations we bought included them whether we used them or not. We had meal options listed on the cards and also a line for song requests. We had a few people misplace theirs, so they ended up just sending us a message to RSVP (which we were fine with), and some others were good about replying. There were many that didn't send them back though. Since we ended up postponing our wedding after we had already sent out the invites, we'll probably either do the same invites with the RSVP cards, or if we go with different invites, we will just do online RSVPs. Less postage to pay for, no risk of RSVPs being lost in the mail, and easier for guests.

I actually did both. I knew that there were a lot of older folks that weren’t technologically savvy so I definitely have to do paper invites for those

Some people don't rsvp no matter what the options are.
Many people do mail in cards only while others will use a service like rsvpify.com attached to their website, in addition to offering a phone/text option so there are multiple ways to reply.

What I have seen online from reading various commentaries is that people find mail in cards to be most convenient as far as remembering to return them. But it's a know your crowd type thing.

We did paper invitations and online RSVP through the Knot and it was so easy to keep track of. We also needed people to select their meal choice and certain guests also had to RSVP for the rehearsal dinner/welcome party and our farewell brunch the following morning at the same time. Since so many of our guests essentially had to RSVP for 3 events and select a meal, it was so easy to keep track of on the Knot. I would highly recommend this!

We did RSVPs via mail, but then we also created a private Facebook event page and only added guests who were invited to the wedding to the page. Some people replied to one, but not the other. Others didn't reply to either one. If they relied to the Facebook event page, but didn't send their RSVP back via mail, I sent them a Facebook message. Basically, I asked them everything on the reply card so if it was a husband & wife if both would be attending, if it was a single person would they be bringing a date and the date's name, allergies, etc. After the deadline, I reached out to those who didn't RSVP via mail or I didn't message on Facebook after they put attending on our event page. I can tell you from experience there will definitely be people who don't reply no one matter how many RSVP options you provide to them.

We’re doing our RSVPs through our website. Part of that is to ensure no one tries adding a random plus one! The website will only let people who are invited to RSVP.

    Online!
I've personally become bad at mailing stuff back. Last invite I received, I just texted my response anyways.

Online gives guests more time to respond and negates any USPS delays and mail problems.
As a bride, it was great <and exciting!!> getting the instant alerts when someone responded and then our guests list was automated and it was easy to share with MOB and MOG.
Know your audience and have MOG and MOB follow up with those that are probably less tech savy.
In our group of guests, we really only had to "chase down" about 10% on the due date. And I dived it up. If it was FH friend, then FH texted to ask. Ditto for MOG and MOB and myself. Us 4 tackled the short list and had it done that day. Make sure you're not solely responsible! Let others help!!

I chose to use online RSVPs too. I didn't want to buy more cards with envelopes, and pay for extra stamps. Also my guest count is about 25 people, so I didn't feel like it was worth it to have physical RSVPs, where they can just let me know by text or use our wedding website. The online RSVP is super easy, and most of my friends/family members are tech savvy as well.

I did both. I got one paper RSVPs back, two couples RSVP'd on our website. The rest of the people I had to reach out to.

We did online RSVP’s and it worked out perfectly. We only had to hunt down 1 RSVP after our deadline and everyone filled out all requested information.

We are doing both. We know that some of our guest are not that computer savy so they wouldn't be able to figure out the online RSVP while others would forget to send theirs in. To me it is the best of both worlds lol
