Rsvps first decline when?

Jolie, on August 6, 2019 at 9:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

When did y'all receive your first decline RSVP after you sent invites? I am curious. I am presuming it's not the eager beavers who send them back within a week of the invites being sent. Was it a decline you were disappointed about? Did you suspect it or it came as a surprise? I gotta admit, FH's nephew we for sure thought wouldn't come as he is states away and said he doesn't talk to his mom anymore (but would be sitting with his mom/sister/aunt & uncle/cousins) actually RSVP'd yes and we were so surprised!

We sent out invites out a week ago today. So far we have received 31x yeses, and 5x no's (one of the no's was a +1 on one of the yes, so really it was only 2x families). We expected that the people who declined were going to decline. So far all of the yeses are people that we thought were going to come, and there hasn't been any surprises yet.

We sent our invitations out 3 weeks ago today, and we received our first decline last week. We gave our guests the option of mailing back their response or RSVP'ing online… this guest was kind enough to mail in their response. I will say, it didn't really come as too much of a shock, as we recently learned FH's high school friend's sister is getting married on the same day as us, so we anticipate a lot of his high school friends to decline and attend their local wedding instead.

We got some pretty early on because we had people already have travel plans.

Our first RSVP was a half decline- my FHs cousin could attend but her husband couldn't.

We got our first decline about a week after the invites went out. I was a little surprised just because it sounded like they were going to be coming, but something came up and now they can't make it. I am a little disappointed, but I can't force someone to come to my wedding, and that family's decline freed up space for other guests' plus ones so I guess it worked out in the end.

We've received mostly yes' and maybe 2-3 no's. For our guests, I'm assuming that the majority of no's will wait until the last minute.

Of the 166 guests we invited, we’ve only received 4 no’s - it was a family from out of town who called us to tell us they won’t be able to make it. All other RSVP’s we’ve received by card or online have been yes’s. We will be calling all our guests we haven’t heard from in a week to get an official yes or no.

We mailed ours out on July 16th and we have yet to receive any declines yet. We have 19 of 56 back so far.

I mean I have fully accepted we might not get any at this point; I hope to get some but we basically know we are affording them all if that should happen. Maybe the declines come later. The most we have gotten so far is a baby not coming but she was free anyway haha.
