Rsvp?

Asia, on August 13, 2020 at 9:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
Suggestions on rsvp’s?

We are mailing out rsvp cards with stamped envelopes and website rsvp links.
We are not blocking hotel rooms because some ppl may have a specific place they’d like to stay and I don’t want ya getting stuck with a bill if the rooms are occupied.
What should be on the RSVP cards? Accept or decline? Seems like a waste of paper lol they are not having a meal choice we have the menu picked.

A line for their names, how many seats you've reserved for their party (optional,) and accepts or declines. Not a waste at all since it's pretty imperative that you have a guest count.

I put a line for song requests on my invitations. Otherwise, if you have a wedding website, you could have guests RSVP on the website to save paper?

For the hotel room block, if you wanted to set one up, maybe look into a courtesy block. The hotel blocks off a number of rooms for guests to call and reserve, and any unused rooms by the deadline are released back to the hotel for them to sell. In that scenario, you are not responsible for any of the costs of booked or unbooked rooms.

No we ARE doing doing rsvp’s. My question is what else can we put on there in addition to accept or decline. But the name part is helpful. We are also doing invite only.

So the invite is directed specifically to that person or couple.

We were giving multiple options to rsvp due to my FH side is a lot older than my side of the family.

Unfortunately, some people don't understand that invitations are only for those that they are addressed to and will try to add others like children or a plus one that wasn't given. Like I said, it's optional, but definitely helpful.

That makes sense! Keeps it easy for everyone. In addition to accept/decline and song requests (if you choose to ask for song requests), I would also include a date for the RSVP deadline, so people know when to reply by. Otherwise, that's pretty much it, the RSVP card doesn't need a whole lot of info on it.

This is very true. While you would think people would know, you have to be very specific.

Some things you can include are song requests., response if they are attending a welcome dinner for farewell brunch. Ask if they need transportation to the wedding. Another option is to have all the info with rsvp options on a website such as withjoy.com that lets you customize your questions. But that keeps your elderly and non technological guests from replying unless you have multiple contact options.

You can have a service do this for you so you don't have to ask all the questions! Hotel Planner is a popular one. We used Kleinfeld because they handled everything for us so it was less work on our end. We ended up getting a block of 30 rooms reserved at a slightly discounted rate, we'll get a free room if at least 10 rooms are reserved, and we're not obligated to pay for anything, so if people end up just staying with relatives or whatever, we're not on the hook. Here's a screenshot of our RSVP:Rsvp? 1

You could easily leave off the food options and just have more space, or as PP mentioned, leave a space for song requests.

Our cards were really simple just asking for the names of the guests accepting and whether they declined or accepted. They are definitely not a waste.

I would reconsider a room block, you can work with the sales team to "block" room with no guarantee which could be released 1-month prior. That's what we've done at our venue / resort. We only requested their bare minimum block and they have until the month prior to reserve / 24 hour cancellation with no penalties.

Our wedding website also provides other nearby hotel choices where there are no blocks in place.

Will do. I’m think when we do the rsvp cards we are naming people specifically on the invite.

And at the bottom will say “hotel accommodations? Yes or No”
