My wedding is February 29, 2020. I mailed out our invitations on November 29th and our RSVP date is January 15, 2020. Even though I sent them out in November, many of our guests are just now getting them.

I wanted to make sure I got them out early for our out-of-town guests to give them enough time to schedule time off from work and make the proper travel arrangements. Some say you shouldn't send your invites out more than 10 weeks before your wedding, but I did because I wanted to give our out-of-town guests time.

I went for a little over a month for the RSVP return date before the wedding b/c I want to have my final numbers a month prior to the wedding to give to the venue and caterer. I'm an extremely organized person and I like to plan things out in detail and want to make sure I have all of my final numbers, favors, place settings and seating cards (because we are having assigned seating), ready for the wedding as early as possible so I don't have to worry about it.

My suggestion for you would be to send out your invites at the end of June or beginning of July and set your RSVP date for maybe August 15ish? It really depends on your personal preference.

Invitations go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. The RSVP deadline should be 1-2 weeks before your final headcount is due to allow time to follow up with stragglers.

Our RSVP date was 40 days out (so 10-20 days earlier than typical) because we had a vendor need final count 30 days out and I wanted time to contact everyone that didn't send it back. We sent our invites out 6 weeks ahead of our RSVP deadline.

We sent our invitations out 7 weeks before our wedding (6-8 weeks is typical). Our RSVP deadline was September 16th for our October 5th wedding. That gave us time to get our final headcount turned in and create our final seating chart.
