Look at when your venue or other vendors require final numbers by and add about a week to this. We did a month before our wedding as the RSVP date

1-2 weeks before your final headcount is due.

We're planning on doing pretty far ahead (venue needs firm count 30 days out, so # by 8.12.20) and I'm anticipating a lot of chasing and honestly potentially inviting others if we get super low #.

We set it as 7.31.20 so it was the end of the month - maybe easier for people to remember to mail it in?

Do you think 10/25/20 is a too short in time date for rsvp?

I guess it depends on your count (50 people vs 200 ppl), when you need it for caterer (give yourself at least 1 week buffer) and how challenging your group of guests may be.

My partner's side has a lot of family invited (50+) and honestly I have no clue what they will respond with - we're not close or haven't met like 60%. So my buffer includes my FMIL and FFIL texting people and get answers the week after lol, and then if like 35 say no there are friends we'd have preferred to invite. So that's the extended buffer for us.

It depends on when you send out your invitations. We are getting married on July 18, 2020 and are sending invites mid April. Guests are to RSVP by June 14, 2020 so I could get seating chart, tables, linens, etc. ready. I would say have guests RSVP no later than October 11 so you have time to get everything in order.

    Date twin!

I am making mine either October 10th (because it's a Saturday) or the 15th. My final count is due the 31st, and that gives us some buffer time to track people down.

    Hi Date Twin!🤗
I think that’s the route I’m gonna go too as far as rsvp dates. Thank you 💜

Your venue will probably give you a date for when you need to give them your total (mine was I think a week or 10 days before the wedding), and you'll want some time to do your seating chart before that (the venue will ask for it, I'm sure) so I would say probably mid/late October (around the 20th of October or so). You usually send them out around 8 weeks out from the date of the ceremony, but we did it more like 11/12 weeks out to give them more time (and thus, us more time). I don't think the extra couple weeks hurts. The extra time also gives YOU more time to reach out to those who don't RSVP (because people won't).

It depends on when you need to give final head counts to your vendors. I would have the RSVP date about 1-2 weeks before then to allow for you to chase non-rsvp'ers down.
