Question ladies when do you send out rsvp cards for a destination vowel renewal?

Whether for a vow renewal, or a first time wedding, destinations require more notice usually. If all of your guests will have to make travel plans, you should let them know as early as you can. Your profile says April 2020, so I would send Save the Dates now, to give your guests a heads up. Then, send invitations (with RSVP card) about 5-6 months from the wedding.

Your invitations, with RSVP cards, should go out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. You could push it to 10 weeks before since it’s a destination event. Like PP said, I would send out save the dates now.

A destination really? Seeing that we need a head count heads for plates I thought it would have to be sooner

You shouldn’t need a final headcount until 2-3 weeks before the event.

We’re having it in San Juan and the resort requires us to place a deposit to block rooms as well as to hold the venue for a precise number of people. We don’t want to shell out more money for someone who decides not to show, we’ll be responsible for paying for rooms not accommodated for as well as plates, and other people can be extended out that invite

I was always told for destination weddings, 10-12 weeks is the norm for sending invites. Ours was technically a destination bc only one family was local to the area. We sent invites out 12 weeks before as we had a deadline with the baker a month before to give them the headcount. And had no real trouble.

We sent ours out in February for our Oct wedding that was in Vegas. We didn't even think about the whole STD thing. Honestly though we'd do it the same way now. The STD is basically just an early invite so why waste paper and stamps sending info twice? None of our guests thought it was odd. They were all super excited to get more detail early on so they could plan for the DW.
