rsvp wording, what do you think?

Tina, on September 13, 2019 at 10:11 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12
Sorry the image is bad I took a pic of my laptop. This is what I've created for my RSVP cards. We are having a sit down dinner with the meals yet to be chosen but this is my mock-up. If the invitation is to more than a couple, there will be extra lines added for the kids names. Which just reminded me I need to add option 4 for kids meal!

Anything you would add or change?

I think these look good! The only issue I see is allowing them to write the names in themselves, which would lead to people adding guests that weren't invited in place of those who can't make it. I would put the names on there for them.

If I'm reading this right, you want to offer one of three meal choices to each guest. If that's the case, I wouldn't let them check 1, 2, or 3 - I'd probably put "meal: ____". As it is now, I wouldn't be surprised if some people check more than one entrée either because they think they can get two portions, or because they think the caterer would do half portions of both, or because they just don't get it.

Typically response cards have people fill in their names themselves— it helps them to
let you l ow who is coming especially in the case that only a few members of the invited family can make it.

I think you’re adding an extra step to make it slightly more complicated. I agree with PP to just have a blank after their name to fill in meal selection versus numbering. (Would leave the meal options listed on the bottom though— that looks great!)

Thank you! Will definitely change it. Will make it look nicer too without all the numbers and lines.

Would you still have the numbering (1. Beef 2. Salmon) or just have it (Beef. Salmon. ) and have guests fill in the actual food choice?

Yeah! I think that looks great. I personally don't mind numbering the food options for ease of filling in the RSVP, but I think this looks cleaner. Nice job!

This is so smart! This really should be the standard for those having plated meals. I think it looks great. I would just maybe split the "We have reserved..." and the "Number attending..." lines to top and bottom of the card to break it up visually?

    That’s what I thought too.

I received one back with “bringing Daughter and Grandson” ✍️on it.
