rsvp Venting

Becky, on August 17, 2019 at 12:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Waiting on RSVP’s has been the most stressful part of the wedding planning! We mailed our Save the Dates out in February and our invitations out end of June. I have received 93 back and waiting on 65 to come in. Our due date in 8/31/19 so still 2 more weeks. Of the 65 outstanding, 25 are from out of state and we highly doubt that they will be attending and 10 are in the wedding so we know they will be attending. I know I need to be patient but it’s so hard as I’m trying to figure out how much our meal expense will be as we have to turn in our final count and payment on 9/04/19. I know we have enough money for everyone to attend but it would be nice to know if I can use some of that money on other things for the wedding. I just wish people that know for a fact that they are coming or not coming to just rsvp right away! Maybe next week I will send an email to just our really close friends and family reminding them of the due date and to rsvp either way. Oh well, just needed to vent!

I understand your stress. I’m going through the same thing right now. My RSVP deadline is still 3 weeks away, but I’m very impatient lol. We have 42 yes’ and 0 no’s at this point, which is also stressing me out. We still have 64 outstanding RSVP’s. I’m hoping for at least some no’s! My FMIL overtook part of my guest list, so I’m hoping a lot of her guests decline.
Good luck maintaining your stress level. Because I know luck and wine is what I need at this point lol.

Totally know how this feels! I just went through this! Our original rsvp deadline was August 7. And guess what, still have about 2 or 3 I haven't heard from yet, and the wedding isi in 3 weeks!. The first RSVP you get back is exciting! But as the days pass, it gets more frustrating! We had to follow up with a bunch of people! And the declines were upsetting, but can't be helped.

Yup, I can relate! We are planning on texting/calling everyone who doesn't RSVP by Sept 12.

I totally relate also. My RSVP due date isn't until 9/6 but still very stressful. I thankfully found a helpful tip online so it makes it way easier for us.

Agree!! We're the day before you and the RSVPs have stressed me out a ton. Still waiting on a bunch and I know I'll have to follow up with people.

That's why I skipped the RSVPs. Skipped that stress all together.

That sounds terrible. How do you know who is attending, how much food to buy, how much alcohol etc. Seems like a good idea in theory but would stress me out even more.

We had a lot of people mail them the day before or day they were due. There were a ton of people we were tracking down after they were due as well.. it's very frustrating. Good luck.

I read an article online that said to number your RSVP & write down who got what number so when your not getting them back you know who to contact.
