rsvp Timeline

If my Wedding Day is 10/13/18 what is an appropriate time to say the RSVPs must be back by? (Also to note I do not have a wedding planner it's just me and my mom is helping - I have 4 kids 13 and under so time is hard to come by sometimes).

It depends on if/when you caterer or someone needs final numbers submitted to them.

I did my deadline 4 weeks out to give me time to collect to stragglers.

We need to give our final numbers to the venue two weeks before the wedding, so we're doing our RSVP date a week before so it gives us enough time to track everyone who didn't RSVP and to get a few lost envelopes in the mail too

Set the RSVP date to September 12, that gives it time for the rsvps to get back to you, and gives you time to follow up with any missing rsvps.

I had mine set for a 5 weeks before the wedding date. My count is due 2 weeks before and I wanted to give myself time to hunt down anyone that may have not replied.

We are getting married June 10th and set the RSVP date for May 2nd. We need to have our final count in to our venue for May 30th, but I know people will send the RSVP on May 2nd instead of before so we wanted to allow us enough time to get those RSVPs and then contact stragglers. We're also ordering a seating chart off of Zazzle.com so we wanted to allow for enough time for us to make the chart and for it to get delievered.

I will preface this by saying that 60% of our guests are coming from out of state so our timeline was a little early. Out of state guests will plan travel much sooner than in state guests.

Our wedding is late April and we asked that RSVPs come back by March 2nd. This is a little earlier than I think most brides are comfortable with but to be honest it left plenty of time for us to contact the stragglers (there were some who never planned to send it back so don't feel bad about texting/calling after they are due).

One other thing to consider is that you will likely start planning your layout with the venue about a month before the wedding. You need a close enough guest head count to do that effectively.

    I hope this helps!

Our wedding is on 10/20 and we have the deadline for 9/24 so I can provide the guest count to caterer and then work out seating.

Our venue requests a head count and payment by June 5, so we requested May 25. That gives us plenty of time to call people if needed.
