RSVP text reminder

KayWell, on May 25, 2014 at 7:20 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 7

I haven't heard from a few people and my RSVP deadline is the end of this week. I am going to send out a gentle text reminder tomorrow, but don't know what to say? Anyone have example wording they used or suggestions?

Dear guest, I hope that you recieved our wedding invitation. If not you can find info at www.wedding site.com. we've yet to recieve your RSVP and have to get a final head count by x. If you could ease let us know your intentions.

I would wait until after RSVP due date to send this.

I wouldn't post it on FB. I wouldn't want to hurt feelings of those we didn't invite or have anyone that we didn't invite wonder if their invite got lost in the mail or something. Just send a text "hello guest! Just wanted to check in with you since we haven't received your RSVP back yet. Feel free to let me know via text if you haven't nailed it."

Personally, I think you need to wait until the deadline passes.

ps. Nicole's approach is great. use that after deadline passes.

^^^ yes, wait til after the deadline. youll be surprised how many people mailed theirs within the last couple days. i'd talk to people before the deadline and theyre like "oh shoot i havent mailed it yet! ohwell i have til may 14th"..so people really do wait til last minute. ours were due on a Wednesday and i waited until after I got the mail on Saturday to start texting/messaging people. annnnnnd here we are, a week and a half past due and i'm still getting cards in the mail. awesome.

I like your response Allison! I’m shocked how many people couldn’t check a box and put the pre addressed/ pre stamped card back in the mail and or use our web site! Especially where menu selections are involved, it is, for me, crucial to have the information. I’ll be sending out texts and emails asking I suppose. Just frustration to spend time doing this after taking such care and expense for the rsvp s themselves 😞
