rsvp Song Requests Flopping So Far

Jolie, on August 7, 2019 at 12:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
How is this happening? Lol I like country music but most you can’t dance to (like party dancing not line dancing or just kinda bopping along). A lot of people have requested country songs and many slow songs when we already have our slow songs picked out. I was hoping I’d get a bunch of upbeat pop songs but looks like I’m gonna have to come up with those on my own still. Anyone have any fun upbeat song suggestions you like or have on your list for your wedding??

All the song requests I got from RSVP I just played during the dinner and sit down portions before the dance floor opened up

That’s what I’m thinking. I can still play their slow songs for cocktail hour as background music and during dinner. Doesn’t help I need dance songs! Haha I’ll have to start looking at lists online I guess.

Oh lordy haha yeah it doesn’t help much at all. I was banking this process would make it easier to pick up beat songs. We got Cake by the Ocean so far which is fun and a less known Jason derulo song. I might just pick one of his other fun radio hits to appease that guest haha

We asked people for song requests for our wedding and most of them either didn't give an answer or picked slow songs so we left it up to our DJ. We figured it was his job and he would know what songs would work well. I had a few songs I really wanted played so I included those on our must play list, but they were all fast dance like songs.

My brother in law requested that “git up” song. I’m also requesting boot scooting boogie. But a few of my guests as well as myself know the line dance. My mom always says dances like the electric slide and cha cha slide get people out on the dance floor. You only need one or 2 songs to get people up, because once they’re up and out there, they’re more likely to stay out there and just keep dancing.

I started getting all slow songs and ridiculous songs like the chicken dance and that pontoon song, UGH! I added mostly 80s and 90s music but I also added Love You Like A Love Song by Selena Gomez, Just Fine by Mary J Blige, and Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon. We also put Cupid Shuffle on the list to get people out on the dance floor.

When I asked for song request I said what song is going to make you party hard? If the DJ plays________ I promise to dance. And they had to fill in the blank. Two people put slow songs and I sent them a message that said read the question again. We can't turn up to that lol and they changed their song

Haha good thinking. I mean I worded it "list a song or two you'll dance to". I figured people would want fun songs but I guess not. I asked my FH if his one cousin listens to country music and he said hell no, yet they picked "Wagon Wheel". I thought really, come on. Stop trying to appease us; we want party songs! I am gonna start looking up songs today to compile a list.
