RSVP/ Save the Date wording

Mrs. B to Be, on November 12, 2017 at 10:44 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Good morning everyone!

I'm planning my invitations and Save the Dates so I can buy them during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Our reception will be at a hotel/restaurant, so each guest will be able to choose the food they prefer that night. FH and I will go for a tasting and to set a limited menu of 5-6 options per course in the spring. My question is whether it's appropriate to put something like "please list any dietary restrictions or allergies" on the RSVP card where people usually indicate which meal they prefer. If not, I could also maybe put this on our save the dates? I'll already be sure to have plenty of options without nuts, meat, or seafood, since I know those are common, but I don't know what exactly is relevant to my guests and this way I can tailor the menu options to what they can actually eat. So is it okay to ask this question on the RSVP card or the Save the Date? Thank you!

Your wording is perfect and perfectly appropriate for the rsvp. You can't ask people for information on the STD as they have yet to be invited.

Thank you all for the advice! I'll add this to the bottom of the RSVP cards.
