RSVP rudeness

Sorry for the multiple posts today but we just got the response card back from FH cousin and omg I couldn't believe he did this. Simply checking the decline box would have been sufficient but no he had to be an ass

A funeral is a one time event. The aftermath of a parents death and the grieving process last far longer. Missing a funeral is understandable, but perhaps the cousin felt there was a lack of any support from your fiancé at all afterwards-or before if his dad died of an illness. I wouldn't be so quick to call him an ass or think he's being incredibly rude- it looks like he's just flat out hurt to me. Try not to be angry with him.

Oh no there was definitely support. Before his surgery FH wanted to go visit and this cousin said no we couldn't come. Actually they have cut themselves off from FH side of the family for some time and nobody has any clue as to why. When FH or his dad tried to call and check on his dad they either didn't answer the phone or picked up and then immediately hung up. No response to emails or texts. We were still inviting them regardless of all of this. So yes there was definitely an attempt at support

That's so sad. Why is it so hard to be mature adults?

Saw the post that he's 40. so now I ask---why would a 40 year old man leave a 5 year old in charge of filling out the rsvp.

glad you don't have that mess coming to your wedding.

@Leah that wasn't a 5 year old it was him. He wrote NO over the card and put his name on top so we would know it was him
