Rsvp response time

Jessica, on July 10, 2019 at 5:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 24
Just a little bit curious how everyone’s response times went???

our deadline is this coming Monday (July 15) and we are still missing 30.. which is literally half. They’ve had since May to respond.

curious if this is normal or we just have incredibly slow friends and family 😂

I think this is normal. We invited 100 and have only heard back from 20. Our RSVP deadline is also July 15th.

People just don't rsvp anymore. They think they can just text the day before and say I'm coming or tell aunt sue to tell your mom they're coming. uggghhhhhhh

This is normal for most. In my case, the only person we had to track for a response after the RSVP date was the best man.

I think that’s normal! We just finished following up with people on RSVPs. We invited 160 and ended up following up with about 30 people or so.

I know ugh. I was really hoping people would rsvp. We invited 280 total and we still need 199 rsvps

I've had an extremely small handful of cards come in, and I have also had people contact me on social media. If they contact me directly with specific plans, paid flight/hotel, etc., or to say they for sure can't make it, I guess I'm ok with that, but my parents tried to tell me that "so-and-so said they were coming with I think blah blah and probably whatever adult kids you invited...." I was like NOPE they can send their cards; that just told me less than nothing. Smiley tongue

Also, our cards are due back August 1.

It's one of the great mysteries of life: no one knows how to respond to a wedding RSVP.

I had a ton of people we had to ask directly about their RSVP and a ton of people who waited last minute and past deadline

Same! Still waiting on more than half of the invites! And just assuming somebody will come is not enough because we need to know what they want to eat!

I was reaching out to people to remind them. It was irritating, but I had to start being a bit rude. We are doing a plated dinner and need answers confirmed, everyone eventually got back to me but I had to threaten that they would be a "no".

We invited 160 and had to reach out to 90 when our RSVP date came....most of it was FH family that we had to invite but didn't bother to respond because they wont travel, but that's another story...

We sent our invitations out the last week of June with an RSVP deadline of August 7. So far we've received 30 out of 93. I anticipate having to track people down after our deadline simply because some extended family members have never responded to an RSVP before in their life. Kind of rude and frustrating.

Our guests had their invites for 6 weeks. Nothing for the 1st week, then the second-fourth week we steadily got 1-2 per day in the mail. 5-6 the 5th & 6 weeks. Then we had to reach out via text to the 61 people who didn't RSVP.

We sent out 67 invitations. Got back 33 so far.. our rsvp due date is also July 15
hopefully to get them back soon. A lot of our rsvp are coming back without names which is very very weird. They are checking they are attending but no name on the rsvp cards not sure why
