rsvp on the back of the invitation or a separate card?

Ashley, on February 2, 2021 at 8:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I have opted to not do a mail-in RSVP (I've been told by several family members married in recent years that they didn't get many of them back and I hate the idea of putting postage on all of those cards for it to be wasted). We are giving folks the option to RSVP on our website, by an email address we created for the wedding, and they can call or text by cell. Should we put the RSVP info on a separate card in the envelope, or print the info on the back of the card? We are trying to be frugal, however, I worry many people will not read the whole card, front and back.

We had our guests RSVP via our wedding website. We had the link printed at the bottom of our invitation where it said “please RSVP by date“. None of our guests had any issues seeing the link or RSVP’ing online.

We're printing on the back of our invites! It will direct our guests to go to our wedding website to RSVP, get directions, accommodation information, etc.

Personally, I always check the front and back of cards when I receive them, so I'm not worried too much about people not seeing it. I'll just contact anyone who hasn't RSVPd 2 weeks before the deadline and politely remind them.

I did a separate card for our online RSVP, but I also included on there that hotel and registry information could be found on the website. Totally understand though not wanting to spend extra money if you don't have to - it's the main reason we're doing an online only RSVP!

We're doing online RSVPs and are including a small 3.5" x 2.5" enclosure card with the website info to RSVP. Our save the dates had text including our wedding website on the back and it seems like few people actually turned it over and saw it since we got a lot of questions about whether or not we have a site.

Daughter did a separate card, but also had the RSVP date and website link printed on the back of the invitation. She figured the separate card would be more obvious for someone looking for a traditional RSVP response card and the printing on the back was a good back-up for someone who only kept the actual invitation and threw the rest away. It seemed to work; by her RSVP date only 10 people (representing three households) had not completed the online RSVP. Good luck!

We did a separate card, and the way we did it was to buy a pack of customized business cards on Zazzle. The front said "kindly reply by x date" and the back had all of the information on it. With a 40% off discount, which they have fairly often for business cards, it was around $12 for 100.

I put the website on the front of our Save the Dates and plan to put it on the back of the invitation asking people to RSVP online. I don't want to waste paper and money for a separate card. I'm sure people will figure out to look at the back!

I haven’t sent out invitations yet but I noticed that no one bothered to look at the back of our save the dates that had the website info on it. So be careful with that! I still think no one has looked at the website because of it. I would do a separate smaller card with the info

I would definitely do a separate small card with the RSVP info directing guests to your wedding website.
