RSVP not sent back

Sheri, on May 9, 2017 at 12:29 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

For a head count the guests that fail to mail back their RSVP should we count them as coming or not coming to the wedding? For venue and food catering purposes

You call them and ask if they're coming.

You should call them and follow up.

Are you already sending invites for your wedding?

You make sure to save yourself time, like a week or so, between your RSVP deadline and when you need your final headcount for vendors, so you can contact them directly

Your wedding isn't for another 10 months, please tell me you haven't already sent invitations.

    Wait a second.

Have you already sent out invitations? You're way ahead of yourself if you have.

9 months is way to early to know someone's availability.

Sheri - you should contact any guests that don't RSVP after your RSVP deadline and ask if they are able to make it or not. Don't assume they are or aren't coming because your head count won't be accurate.

    Okay good.

If you hit your RSVP date and still have unresponsive guests give it a couple days and start making phone calls.

Definitely contact them via phone after the RSVP due date to ensure their seat is reserved..No RSVP card means no seat/meal! I high recommend for all brides to assign this task to their MOH to stay on top of it for you.

Call them. Yes, it's rude as fuck to not RSVP, but apparently manners are in short supply.

And no Cabo, you don't assign 'tasks' to the MOH. Especially this one.

Cabo, I hope your suggestion is a joke. You don't fucking assign tasks to anyone! It's your wedding, do it yourself.

This is a personal task for bride and groom. The only 'assigning' that I can even imagine doing is ASKING parents and FILs to help contact their respective extended family members from the guest list IF they have the time and we don't.

Hey MOH call aunt Sally and ask where her RSVP is. I know you don't know her, and have never met her but call her and demand if she's coming or not.

How stupid does that sound Cabo?
