rsvp Mistake

Liesl, on May 16, 2018 at 5:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

So I designed our Invitations and already had them printed. Despite me having around 10-15 people review the invitation, I noticed that the RSVP was suppose to say "We have reserved __ seats in your honor" but I accidentally put "We have reserved __ in your honor". It's not a big deal and considering everyone who proof-read didn't notice do you think anyone will care? They weren't very expensive about $15 total for printing. I could easily get them reprinted but I'm trying to decide if it's even worth the hassle or not.

I would reprint them. I don't think people will know what you're talking about- I've never heard of people doing that on a RSVP card outside of wedding wire, so without the full sentence, I would be confused.

That is a bit confusing, re-print for sure. Good thing they weren't expensive to get printed!

I vote to get them reprinted. It's only $15 and honestly would drive me crazy if it happened to me.

We had a local printer print them for us so I know they will charge us again. My FH is strongly against me getting them reprinted. He thinks it's wasteful, that most guests probably won't notice and the few that do he hoped "are smart enough to figure out 'please indicate your meal choice below. we have reserved 2 in your honor' means they have two seats and meals reserved".

To clarify, the message reads: “we have reserved 2 in your honor” not, we have reserved __ in your honor?”

If that’s the case, I think it’s fine.

I wouldn't worry about it. Someone pointed out to me WEEKS after my wedding that my middle name was misspelled on the invitation. My own mother hadn't noticed!

Just hopping on the train to say I would reprint them too. As a recent bride, I would understand but so many people had trouble filling out our invitations that were written correctly haha

I’m all for not wasting and spending more money. Is there enough space to write in “seats” after the number? Guests won’t know that it was supposed to be included :p but if it really bothers you, get them reprinted since it’s only $15. It’s not a huge expense.

Honestly people don't know what to write when the RSVP is correctly written. So I would reprint it so it helps the weird phone calls you will get.

Not as bad as my gaffe lol. My invite have people the option of rsvp'ing online via our wedding website but it came with an envelope for the RSVP card that I didn't think about and people actually bought stamps and mailed them in. I was mortified

I would reprint as the cost is very low. However I am wondering if there is room in that space for you to write "2 seats" or "3 seats" vs just a 2 or 3?

Since the cost is so low I'd probably reprint. Just because with obvious instructions right in front of their faces people cant seem to do it right. Lol
But I also agree with your FH. I think if people actually think about it they be able to figure it out, especially with the meal choice listed by it.

There is not enough room to add the word seats unfortunately. The cost is low because I am bringing in my own cardstock. That's where I'm a little hesitant because theoretically after all the stationary is done I should have 30 sheets left over but if I reprint the RSVP's that would leave me with 5 extra sheets of paper. Which if there's any paper jams or cutting mishaps that use more than those 5 sheets of paper I'll either have to choose a different cardstock than I've been using or dish out another $96 after shipping to get another bundle of the cardstock I've been using.
