I bet they thought they were being cute. Some people don't understand how stressful wedding planning can be sometimes. Hang in there!

Maybe? Do these people think you were sending them a practice invitation? Why do people struggle with RSVPs? I don't get it.

I got a "we'll be there, but I still have to check if I can get the time off work". Please. Don't RSVP until the due date if you aren't sure. Bah! Then maybe I'll have a seat for you! Ha!

    We got a 4-5.

My response....you either have four people coming, or five. There is no in-between!

Right? I dont remember maybe being an option. Oh and the kicker.. Its a week and a half after our rsvp deadline. I chased her down bc she didnt rsvp like 4 days ago and she declined. Well fh was chasing down her dad's rsvp which he accepted and they added her on to his rsvp as a maybe. Seriously wtf?

When my parents got married they got a response card back that said "We'll try our best to be there, but we're moving that day." They we're put down as a no lol

Well... yes, this seems extremely rude. However, perhaps they have something major pending and, although they would like to be there, they are truly not sure. It would have been more considerate of them to let you know one way or the other or at least let you know what's going on.

However, don't return rude with rude. Let them know politely that the caterer requires a response and that you will put them down as a "no".

"However, perhaps they have something major pending and, although they would like to be there, they are truly not sure." Well, if that's the case, the polite thing for them to do is decline with regrets. Life is about making decisions. "Maybe" is not a decision.
