rsvp food wording

Lexi, on February 21, 2019 at 7:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

We're doing a plated meal for the reception and I'm unsure how to word the RSVP card for the food space. Should we do "Stuffed chicken breast with red potatoes and seasonal vegetables" or should I do "stuffed chicken breast" or "chicken".

I'm not sure how detailed I need to be on the RSVP card.

How much do the dishes vary beyond the meat? If it's a lot it would be nice to know the whole dish, but at the end of the day if just "chicken" works best on the invitation I think guests would be perfectly happy with that.

I would probably do stuffed chicken or chicken.

I actually would want to know what the stuffed chicken is stuffed with because that makes a difference on whether I’m not I’d want to eat it so I actually vote for more detail like “spinach stuffed chicken breast” for example.

As someone with food allergies more details is really helpful.

We are doing "Hanger Steak" "Stuffed Sole" and "Vegetarian Risotto" because all the sides are the same.

On my RSVP there is just a picture of a cow a chicken or a carrot. But in my website I listed full meal descriptions under FAQ. I don’t think people read the website as much as I do when I’m invited to a wedding, but hopefully it helps enough of my guests decide.

I don't think the rsvps need to be that detailed. I would include a detail card with your invite of the menu options or put it on your website or do both. I personally don't need to know about sides because wedding sides are pretty standard, a starch and a veggie. But having that side detail card of the menu will help them make an informed choice without having your rsvp cards too wordy.

I would be vague on the RSVP (Chicken, Beef, Vegetarian). Post a detailed menu on your website, if you have one.
