rsvp fail

Jordan, on August 1, 2019 at 7:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
I spent so much time reading the forums to ensure that my invitation and RSVP process were foolproof. I even bought a set of invisible pens and had my mom number the rsvp cards so that if they forgot to write their name I’d know who it was from.

Well, we received one without a name and I was super excited to use my pen to find out who had set it. It was number 8. Easy right?! Wrong! The person listed as number 8 had already sent theirs back. Somehow I have 2 cards numbered 8 😩😩 now what?!

Now you wait for the rest to come in. Was there a postmark? My FH has 5 family’s of 4 with the last name of Johnson and they put on the RSVP Johnson Family. I thankfully was able to tell from the postmark which Johnson family it was.

Maybe it’s number 18? I think here all you can do is wait for the rest to come in

Hey Jordan! I’m sorry that your plan didn’t exactly work out! It is a great idea though! You simply have to wait until the rest of your RSVPs come in in order to determine who sent you this one with no name!

I actually asked my mom if she thought we should number ours, but she clearly had more faith in our guests than I did and said she thought we wouldn't have any problems. I agreed and didn't end up doing numbers. Everything was going great until someone didn't put their names. My deadline was yesterday and we still have no replies from 60ish people (individually). I'll start following up soon but I'm really worried no one will "own up" to not putting their names on the card because if not, it's seriously going to bug me so much if I never find out who it actually was. I just want to know! Smiley xd

I am so sorry that happened. I have no advice here, but wanted to say that this is a fabulous idea to get the invisible pens, and I am totally using it!
