rsvp Envelope

Sarah, on July 4, 2019 at 5:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
Has anyone else delt with the post office and small envelopes? We sent out our invitations with 2x4 rsvp envelopes last week. I got a call from one of our invited guests this morning concerned with the envelopes being too small for the sorting machine. I didnt realize their was a size limit. Has anyone else experienced this? Or how much extra it costs for the smaller size?

We went with A1 envelopes (about 3.5 x 5, I believe) for our RSVPs and have had no issue whatsoever. But A1 is somewhat standard still, I think. We used forever stamps.

If it can’t be sorted by machine, it can still be hand sorted. May take a bit longer! With that being the case, I’d definitely call people you don’t receive RSVPs from, just in case!

If you used forever stamps it shouldn't matter. The problem is putting the through the sorting machine. They might not deliver them.

I believe the smallest size size they allow is 3.5”x5”. I’m not sure what would happen to something smaller than that.

Mine were smaller and had no issues. Just make sure you have enough postage on them.

It may need to be had sorted, but it shouldn't be a problem.
