rsvp Deadlines

Crystal, on February 22, 2019 at 11:43 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17

Hello, I'm trying to figure out if there's a set deadline of when people should send rsvp's back? Is it 2 months, 3 months or what? I'm not getting married until next year, but am planning the whole thing with my fiance and using a wedding planner at the end to button everything up. What are you all doing? Do you have a set amount of time you're working with? How soon do you want people to send back their rsvp's?

I'm not sure, but it might depend on when your venue/caterer needs a final count.

It varies by person. I say earlier the better. That way you can reach out to the stragglers to get your info.

I think it’s technically 3 weeks. Find out when you have to have your final count in for your caterer and give yourself time to chase people down. I made mine due a month prior because I was going away on a work trip and didn’t want to have to deal with reaching out to people who hadn’t responded while I was away.

It depends on your caters as to when you should set your reply date a week or 2 prior to when they need final numbers. I sent mine out right at 8 weeks and my reply date is 4 weeks prior

I am also June 6 2020. We are sending out save the dates in August 2019 (we have a lot of out of state people coming), Invites are going out hopefully February 2020 if not March 2020 and we have to tell our caterer a week in advance our final count which would be around the end of May 2020 so we are putting RSVP by the fist week of may (whatever that date is) so we have some room for the ones who forget or we need to call.

Mine I NEED all information sent into the base 3 weeks before to get everyone approved to base. So I will call everyone two days after RSVP’s are due

I put mine a month in advance so I'd have time to follow up with people, make any last minute tweaks, etc. Usually your vendors need total numbers a week or two before your wedding.

Ours is June 27, 2020 at the moment. That may change if some of our family have a problem with that date. It's my grandparents wedding anniversary and they both have passed. So if I put the deadline of May 27, 2020 and send out the invites in April of 2020 that should give everyone, even those from out of town, enough time to rsvp.

I might even send out invites at the end of March if you don't plan on sending save the dates. The mail in my place is wacky and I either get mail from my parents - who live in the same state - the day after they send it or a month later. No in between. Plus, May and June are graduation months in my area, so the earlier your guests can get your wedding on the calendar, the better.

Our RSVP date is 5 weeks before the wedding. I have to have a final count to the baker a month before so I built in a week to bug people who haven't RSVPed.

Ours are due one month before the wedding. We need to give our caterer 3 weeks notice, and I gave myself one week to track people down.

I think it’s about 3 weeks? Or whenever your venue needs the count by. Our wedding is 3/17 and our RSVP date is tomorrow

Yeah. I plan to send out save the dates. So that should help with the whole graduation stuff in may and early June. I'll probably send those out between November and January.

Usually its around a month before the wedding that you RSVP. It depends on your vendors. We had to set ours 40 days before because our venue needs a head count 30 days out.

I think most people do 1 month before the wedding but it all depends on when your venue/caterer needs a final headcount. Some places will need a final headcount a month in advance so in that case you would want your RSVP date like 6 weeks in advance so you have time to hunt people down who haven’t responded.

Our caterer requires a headcount 10 days before the wedding but we made our RSVP 1 month before the wedding, which is also the date we lose our room block. We wanted plenty of time to reach out to people who haven’t responded and to make a seating chart

About a month is usually good for an rsvp date, but as others have mentioned, it depends when you’re specific vendors need final guest counts by. Take that date, and add a week , to give you time to follow up with straggler respondees. So, for example, if your venue needs numbers 10 days before the event, but your caterer needs numbers 20 days before the event, take 20 days, and add at least 7: in this example, a month out is perfect! Invites themselves are typically sent out about a month before RSVPS are due (and about 8 weeks before the wedding!)

i sent my invites out at the end of June, made my RSVP date the end of July, and have
y wedding at the end of August
