rsvp Deadline

Katie, on March 4, 2020 at 12:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
How do you determine when they the RSVPs be in? The caterer can adjust up to a week out but I don’t want to wait that long fir the deadline. Is a month before to far out from the wedding to set it? Invitations have been a huge struggle

Usually if most of your attendees are local then you can send invites 6-8 weeks before you need rsvps in by. I do think it’s better to have it before your caterer needs final headcount just to account for laggers of rsvping or what not

Our caterer didn’t need a final headcount until 72 hours before but I made our RSVP deadline 1 month in advance. I needed time to track down stragglers and make the seating chart and escort cards, and I was not about to do that the week before the wedding!

Our venue needs a final headcount 2 weeks before the wedding but I will be asking our guests to let us know 30 days in advance. A lot of people procrastinate and don't get back to you so even if you have a deadline 30 days before you'll still have time to confirm with them but they don't know that.

I think 30 days is a good number, you should give yourself a week for all stragglers to come in, and if youre reaching out to people you didnt hear from that adds time to, but not necessary to do but alot of people do, and then seating chart and place cards take time. more time = less rushing for you!

We had to have the final count to our wedding venue who provided the catering at our three week meeting (normally it is a two week meeting, but my husband was out of the state so they moved it up a week). Therefore, our deadline was four weeks before the wedding so that we had a week to contact whose who didn't RSVP by the deadline.

We also have up to 14 days before as the deadline, but I'm going to ask everyone to RSVP a month in advance for those I know will be late in responding. I'm not going to have time to try to track everyone down who did not respond.

30 days is a good deadline for your guests. It gives wiggle room for last minute changes

Typically it's around a month out from what I've noticed on invites we've received. I'd find out when all your vendors need final counts and set it a few days or a week before that.

Mine is a little less then a month. Wedding is 04/09 and the deadline is 03/12. We were a little late getting our invitations out so I wanted to give a little extra time. We are still waiting on half!

Wedding is May 23, final count is due May 9, I put RSVP deadline at April 30th. I know the venue can adjust our numbers a little after May 9, but not much.
I think giving people just over 3 weeks till the wedding is enough time. We are getting married on Memorial Day weekend so if they haven't already booked hotels, there won't be any left at that point anyway.

And for reference, I sent my invites out Feb 27 since everyone has to travel.
