Super October 2020

Rsvp date

Fmv, on July 26, 2019 at 12:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
We arent getting married untill october 23rd 2020 but im wondering when should our rsvp date be? We have to give our venue a final count on October 13th. We do have alot of out of town/state guests and alot of them are hard to get a hold of. So i want to have enough time to contact them if we dont recieve a rsvp and also enough time to make a seating chart

We're getting married August 9th and our venue said the final count is due 10 days prior. We have the same concern so we are making our RSVP deadline at least a month in advance.

I would do a month before hand so you have time to reach out to anyone who forgets or doesn't respond.

Give yourself a week to follow up. So I would make it October 6. You don't need that much time to follow up with people and should give them as much time as possible to respond.

I agree. You don't need a month to follow up. 2 weeks max. It's not that involved where it requires a month. It takes one day to send out texts to those who didn't follow up or call.

I personally need longer because alot of my fiances family that is coming are distant family who live out of town. He does not have alot of their phone numbers, so wed have to to through his mom or a 3rd party to follow up and that can take awhile unfortunately with his family

I’d go with October 1st or September 30th for the deadline, hopefully you won’t have too many to contact directly but you’ll still have two weeks to do it. It’s not like you need to send a personalized message to each person, I’ll send a generic text to those I can text, something like: “Hey! We hope you received our wedding invitation and can celebrate with us! We haven’t received your response and need to submit our final numbers to our vendors. Please let us know if you’ll be able to make it!”

I’d also get phone numbers and possibly email addresses for every guest when gathering addresses to mail invitations, that way you can reach out directly and not go through someone else. I know a lot of people split up the list and have FMIL/FFIL, mom/dad, and FS reach out to any guests they invited that haven’t responded which is also an option do you’re not tracking everyone down yourself. Our guest list is so small (65) and I know nearly everyone, so I don’t anticipate any issues reaching out myself.

Can you get phone numbers for them when you gather addresses to mail invites?

We are getting married Sept 28th and I set our RSVP Date as Aug 31st. My final numbers are needed 2 weeks in advance so this still gives me 2 weeks to contact anyone who doesn't RSVP by the 31st. If you set your RSVP Date 4 weeks that should give you enough time.
