rsvp date

Hey guys!
How long before the wedding should the RSVP date on the invitation say?

I want to give enough time, but I also know people tend to send them back late.

What’s your plan of action?

When do your vendors need to know your numbers? My caterer needs the final count two weeks before, so I buffered an extra week and made my RSVP date three weeks before.

I believe it’s the same as yours, 2 weeks before.

We made our rsvp date a week and a day before we had to give final headcount.

It is but our final count is due a month before the wedding, October 20th wedding date, so I worried about making it too early. We’ll have plenty of help to make the calls so I feel like we can do it in a week.

My rsvp date is four weeks out. The caterer and cake baker need two weeks, and I also wanted an extra buffer for the transportation company. The date is also a few days before the hotel block closes.

We did 1 month in advance. Any less than that wouldn’t have left us with enough time to track down people who didn’t rsvp, and to make a seating chart and other arrangements based on our final headcount. Any more than 1 month in advance, I feel many people wouldn’t be able to commit that far in advance and you’d get more no shows

I did a month before wedding. So they have a week to be late. Then I have a week to get in contact with them.

    Getting married September 28, 2019

Sent my RSVP’s right after July 4th
    RSVP date August 28, 2019

that gives me one full month to make a seating chart and that way if there are any stragglers with responding i can call them

Our RSVP date is 2 months before the wedding, and 1 month before final numbers.

Why so early you ask? Because I know I'm still going to need to track people down lol.

Our wedding date is December 14th, 2019, invites going out the first week of September, RSVP date is November 1st. We chose to do a plated dinner and the caterer needs entree choices 1 week before. I know I am going to have trouble getting them back with holidays and everything so they are due early.
