Rose petals for outdoor wedding? How much is too much?

So, Fiftyflowers.com sells 12,000 rose petals for $199.99 or 6000 rose petals for $139.99. Is this too much $$$ or too many petals for the ceremony aisle? Since we will be walking in grass it does not make any sense to have an aisle runner (it will wrinkle, blow, or heels will puncture it). At the same time it is a little ridiculous to spend as much on flower petals as I will spend on 18 centerpieces. What are your thoughts? Where are my girls doing flower petals?

Who is going to pick them up? I wouldn't want to pick up 12,000 petals! I am getting married outside and FG is tossing leaves so we don't have to pick them up again
That sounds like too much to me...

I would go with fake ones you can find 200 for 2.99 on eBay

We are prohibited from using fake petals since it is located in a park. We must use real petals or nothing. We also cannot use paper, tissue, glitter, or sprinkles.

We can use rose petals or leaves - whatever we use must be organic so it can decompose lol

Get pretty leaves and throw those down if your in grass u probably won't see the rose petals much

That's a lot of petals. I wanted real petal because the wedding is outside and don't want fake ones getting to animals but the price was to high. I am having a petal runner so the petals don't blow away.
