Room Block information with Invites ?

JPCD, on February 7, 2018 at 9:36 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
Hi everyone,

For room blocks, should I include room rates in the accommodation card that goes in the invites? Or just the hotel info like phone number and website? I will be having two options for people and I think trying to add all the pricing info may be too much?

Mainly because one of the options is my venue, which happens to be a castle with limited rooms... do I just give them the castle information ? Or should I put each room description with the prices?

thanks for you help everyone

I’ve seen multiple hotel options listed under room blocks on invitations. Sometimes they include notes like:
    Marriott (shuttle pickup/drop-off)
    Hilton (reception location)
I don’t think you need to include actual pricing on the invitation (I personally wouldn’t) but definitely include the hotel name, number, and code (if applicable).

On our details card we put the name, address and phone number for the hotel block. We didn’t include prices. On our website I included 2 other nearby hotels. While I didn’t have blocks set up for them, they were only about a mile further and $50/n cheaper so if they wanted something less expensive there was sone other suggestions

Oh yes I forgot about the website. We can definitely include more information there. I was planning on including our website on either the RSVP card or the details cards. Is this common practice ?

I wouldn’t put the prices, I would just give the general information and people could check them out and decide what works best for them

Don’t put the info on the RSVP Card, they are sending it back to you, so they will forget the info. details card is fine!

We are including ours on the website, and the link is on our save the dates and will be on the invites. Our venue is also the hotel, so it will be pretty easy.

Ours basically just says, "for more travel, hotel and venue info visit our wedding website." We have a couple of different hotel options and a note on directions to the venue that did not fit on the card, so for us it was a practical choice to just direct people to the wedding website instead.

I will have all the info on the wedding website, but I'm also putting it on the invites because a lot of people we are sending our invites to aren't savvy with the internet or don't have it at all, so they can get the info in a traditional way.

Definitely don't include the prices. Your guests can call and see what the rate is. I'm also putting nearby hotels on the website that I don't have a block with just in case they want something a little cheaper, even if it's farther away from the venue Smiley smile

So with my save the dates I sent a little card saying hotel info with rates and how to book and I am doing the same with my invitations plus its on my wedding website so people can decided if they want to spend that to stay. but $99 for the night is a steal
